Where can you find that under $40? It's about $50 at the local L'Occitane.

I figured we were taking a bit of liberty with the price point given some of the suggestions - Givenchy, Varvatos, Mugler, etc. I'm sure small decants of those are under $40 but I'm also sure you can find small decants of Baux.

Kanon Norwegian Woods - $7.00 (very similar feel as L'Occiate Vetyver - though not the same scent)

I think it would be fair if suggesting a frag to also include size of the bottle or discount house... I have been seeing a lot of names of scents well over the $40 mark in a 3.4 oz bottle, and at retail.

My favorites for less than $40;

Jacques Fath pour l'Homme
Azzaro pH
Lalique Encre Noire
Guerlain Habit Rouge
Caron Third Man
Caldey Island Lavender
Grey Flannel

I would recommend any of these regardless of price. I think most of these are rated five stars in Luca Turin's Perfume Guide. I'd also list most of the Cuba Paris fragrance line, which are the best sub $10 scents I've tried.

Personally, I can't recommend Nautica Voyage enough. It smells amazing, and is a wonderful aquatic scent that lasts all day. I constantly get compliments on it from men and women. My girlfriend loves taking a shirt with this on it I've just taken off and smelling it. I've found my signature cologne with this one! I find it at the Nautica outlet for a reasonable price, and Vanity Fair even has had it a couple of times. My first 3.4 oz bottle of this came from there, actually. Paid $14 for it before tax. Here's a link to it on Amazon. Hope this helps, and let me know if you guys give this one a try!

I have The Man Shop, Oud to a rose. This is the most exotic, longest lasting of them all. I live it so much that I hardly ever use it!

Club de Nuit Intense Man (Aventus clone) is pretty good.

Stirling's colognes are definitely worth a try as well. I picked up Executive Man when it first came out, and it didn't seem like it had much staying power. I got Sandpiper this year, and it's much better. Sticks around all day long. Not sure if they modified the formula, or if it varies by scent.
