Great Barbershop scene...in the most surprising of places

Thomas & Friends.

I've known about this episode for about 2 decades, but now it really amuses me more than ever. I was reading the story to my son last night and now I'm sharing with you. There's an old Thomas episode starring an unusual engine named Duck. He ends up crashing into a barber shop where a customer is getting lathered up with a brush to be shaved, probably with a straight. After crashing through the walls of the barber shop, the furious barber lather's up the engine's face with a badger brush.

Must see TV for a B&B member.

I think it's absolutely fabulous, but all of my young-uns are way WAY past Thomas stage. (I'm so TIRED of Hannah Montana!)

My Son, who is 3.5, loves Thomas! I remember when they came out with he first episodes (with Ringo Starr narrating). this is a great scene. However, they don't call him the "fat controller" in the States version, they call him "Sir Toppam Hat".

Cheers!

That's because the "Fat Controller" in the United States refers to Congress.

I remember the Ringo Starr days too. I'm shocked how many crashes are in the show now, but it's fun to watch. You're guaranteed at least three (usually more) derailments, collisions, plummets into lakes, etc there are.:thumbup:

My 21 year-old nephew CLAIMS he now has a fear of riding on trains because of the show.

why would you build a barber shop right there? that just seems like a bad idea to me.

Makes for good TV. I thought the same thing. It practically has tracks going up to the barber chair.

In the book, the barber shop was an old shed that an enterprising barber converted in order to give shaves to the railway workers.

Wow. Didn't know that. We have the book, but I guess it's a modernized version. Great to see them teaching Capitalism to the kids. :)
