Gracie University

I am thinking about starting Jiu-Jitsu. I am short on time and there are not very many gyms near me. Online there is Gracie University which offers video classes. Does anyone have any experience with this?

My stepson has trained at a Gracie academy. From what he has shown me, I don't know if you could learn that online. In his classes, the instructor shows him a move or strategy in each class and then he practices it with a fellow student with input from the instructor.

Do you have to pay for this?

I've trained BJJ for a long time, and I've even used the 10th planet videos. They are very good.

You really can't beat actual training though.

They have some free videos. Some you have to pay for the course.

The videos are good but without you actually drilling the technique with someone, it won't have the outcome you may be after. Check to see if someone who's registered with GU is local to you. Here's another thought, go to the reddit BJJ forum and see if anyone on there is local to you as well.
