GOTD- Green of the Day

A little gifted sencha, the perks of friends with Japanese girlfriends.

It's that time of year again here. When the sun is up before me and it's still shining when I leave work, green tea is a fitting celebration. Looking forward to getting my hands on some of this years growth but have been loving some new to me green teas the past few weeks.

Genmaicha with matcha is new to me and budget awesomeness from O-Cha.

Matcha, Mao Feng & Bi Lo Chun are on heavy rotation.

I've been really enjoying matcha again recently. My wife has been wanting to use it in breakfast smoothies which makes my eye twitch, the stuff in the supermarket is also pretty grim & overpriced. I settled on 250g of this for £7 with free shipping. Pleasantly surprised that beyond adding to smoothies or food I can also coax a reasonable cup of matcha from it. This is clearly not in the same league as O-Cha's matcha but it's also a tenth of the price.

First fresh green tea of 2019 today, a little gifted parcel of Master Luo's Long Jing from Postcard Teas on a sunny day off with friends.

It's wonderful stuff and a rare treat.

Been too long since I've had a great Long Jing.
