Got my great-grandfathers straight razor today

Hi everyone,

My dad gave me my great-grandfather's old straight razor today. I believe it could be close to 100 years old but couldn't find a lot through a Google search, so I thought I'd see if anyone here knows anything about this razor. I'm not too versed in straight razors so any info whatsoever would be excellent. Does it look like I could refurb it for use?

It looks in wonderful condition and I love the scales
Once you get it honed it will be good to go
There looks to be some rust on the blade edge tho so you'll probably have to send it to someone who knows what there doing

Not to worry about the large pictures here. We love razor porn. The razor looks to be in pretty good shape. A little cleaning, polishing and a honing and you should be good to go. Congrats on having a nice heirloom razor from your great grandad! You can't beat that. :thumbup1:

BTW welcome to B&B.

Nice razor, the fact that is was your great-grand father is even better.

There is some rust on the edge and just above it, that will most likely need to be honed out.

The scales are great.

Very cool to have your great grandfathers razor especially in such good condition. And its Swedish steel to boot. Should be a magnificent shaver.
