Got my first DE and need a little info [PICS]

Picked this up for $8 but an antique store here in town and wanted to know if you guys knew approximately what year it is and any other info I may need or want about it?

What numbers or letters do u see in the razor, under the base plate.

It's a Gillette Super Speed and there should be a letter and a number stamped on the bottom of the frame that will tell what year and quarter it was made. If it was flipped over in the second picture it would be visible. The blade was made in the second quarter of 1954.

Im guessing 1954 to 1960's

Pre-1960 since it has the ring around the tto knob I believe.

Doh it was covered with soap, there is an A on it.

A4 would mean it was made in the 4th quarter of 1955.
