i started my wetshaving journey in august with a merkur 23c. i recently acquired a gillette old style open comb, and i have a tech on the way.
when i have a blade in the merkur, if i very gently touch the sharp edge of the blade, i can feel (and see) a gap between the blade and the bottom of the head. when i have a blade in the gillette, there is no visible gap, and i can barely feel that there is indeed a gap.
so...
i had always thought that the aggressiveness of a razor related to the size of the gap between razor head and blade, yet the gillette seems to me to be a little more aggressive than the merkur.
thoughts?
