Got A Gillette Off of the Bay

So I bought a lot of vintage razors off the bay. I have a Gillette DE razor that I can't find the date code on at all. It needs to be cleaned like crazy and the gold has worn off of the razor. How would I go about dating this thing. I guess pictures would help. I will post some later. Like I said though this thing is not in great shape and hasn't been cleaned, but I will post pictures later. Let me know if anyone knows anything. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Jon

The letter-number date coding didn't start on the razors until 1951, with some test coding apparently having been done in the latter half of 1950. So you wouldn't expect anything earlier than that to carry a date code at all. If your razor is a three-piece and also doesn't have a serial number, then the odds are that it's either an Old Type from the '20s, a NEW from the '30s, or a Tech from the late '30s or '40s. If it's a one-piece the more common ones would be an Aristocrat or a Milord from the '40s. There are other things it could be, but those would be the most likely. With a photo we'd be able to tell you right away.

by the way, isn't your dog picture from the 101 dalmations tv show or movie?

Here are some photos. They aren't the best they were taken with the camera on my phone. I still have not had a chance to work on cleaning it.
