What's new

Got a Game Changer 0.68 a couple of weeks ago

All I can say is, I should have got one of these a lot sooner. I get easy BBS, irritation free shaves with this, and I can use it every day without any problems. I have no efficiency problems whatsoever with the 0.68 blade gap. This just works so much better for me than the EJ's I've been using for the past several years (they always felt quite harsh and less efficient by comparison). I got it on the HD handle if anyone is wondering.

I also picked up a RR Old Type head as well, but I probably won't get around to using that for quite a while.

Agreed. I have the 68 and 84. Both amazing in their own category. As others have said, I feel like Razorock offers such great value that people almost discard it thinking it won't compete with the $150 ~ $200 razors when in reality the GameChanger and Lupo can go toe to toe with many razors 3 or 4 times the price. Both excellent quality AND excellent value.

To me the 68 is an excellent 3 pass shaver (WTG + XTG + ATG) and the 84 while I can comfortably use for 3 passes every day can provide a DFS+ with 2 passes + touchups.

Recently I was also very impressed with their budget soaps. I had always overlooked their tripled milled hard soaps (What The Puck series) and picked one up on sale for $2.99 (Red Label). Well let me tell you, it performs well above its price tag. It has excellent performance slickness, residual, even a good post shave feel and I actually enjoy the almond scented one very much. All that at a price close to Arko for soaps made in Italy.

Dull yet interesting
I think the GC .68 is a prime example of “spending 100’s of $$” on a razor is a complete waste of money.
I mean, this thing is beautifully machined. Gorgeous.

Yep it is hard to beat any of RR CNC razors, some of their zamaks heads and soaps....
They have been around for quite a while.
To me (YMMV), they have always been quite the "Underdog" of the wet shaving world...

Snippet of History
The beginning of RazoRock took place on an Italian vacation in 2009. Founders Joseph Abbatangelo and Michael Luorio were charged with bringing back alum stones for their family because they were difficult to find in the states. This set them both on a journey of discovery and passion, lucky for us! Their grassroots business has grown worldwide due to their outstanding customer service and the RazoRock name has since become synonymous with quality Italian shaving products.

My response is pretty aligned with @gpjoe since also have the Game Changer in .68P, .76P, and .84P. All of mine have the HD handle. The .68P is my favorite, followed closely by the .76P. IMO, the Game Changers are fantastic razors regardless of price and the fact that they're only $55 makes them one of the very best values in the world of DE razors.

I own a Game Changer and a bunch of different plates and handles. A couple of Jaws, 1.05, etc. I love it.

Super high quality inexpensive razor that I use a lot. And I say that as someone that owns 3 Wolfmans, multiple Rockwells and Karves among many other high end/collectable razors.

I've done this (overlooked).

I love their soft soaps and have several tubs and a couple jars. xXx is one of my all-time favorites.

I absolutely need to try some of their hard soap...maybe I'll get some on their next sale. 🙂

You should. I cannot speak as much to the scents, I only have the Red Label, the almond scent is light and nice. I've heard the gold label (with charcoal) scent is close to xXx.

The only razor that I’ve tried that is smoother than the Gamechanger .68P for me is the Timeless .68SB, but it’s not by a wide margin and definitely not a slight against the .68P since the Timeless is 4 times the price. The .68P is a fantastic razor at any price point. I found it to work very well as a daily shaver with a feather blade. No issues with efficiency or comfort as it can tolerate some pressure without causing irritation.

I have tried almost all Game Changer, .68, .084 and 1.05., except 0.76. They are all very smooth, but with different efficiency. Personally, no matter how much I insisted, I could not get a real BBS from 0.68., I do not know how others do it, maybe we have a different understanding of what BBS is. With other plates, it works, but I noticed something very interesting. In practice, the difference in the feeling of aggregation between .84 and 1.05 is insignificant, but the efficiency in favor of 1.05 is significant. Moreover, I feel that despite the larger gap 1.05, it slides smoother compared to .84. This is the reason that at the moment I only have 1.05, which always gives me uncompromising BBS.
