Goodwill #160 with a Feather—wow!

I took my Goodwill #160 for a spin this morning with a fresh Feather. I managed a smooth BBS in 2.5 passes.

The smooth efficiency of this depression era razor never ceases to amaze me.

My pleasure, Trey. It is only one of a few vintage Gillettes that will always be in my den. Glad you’re enjoying it, too!

I liked my Good Will #160 so much I even had it gold plated with 14k gold. I've never heard of anyone re-plating a "lowly" Good Will razor. Have you?

I’ve thought about doing that myself. As much as I like the look of mine, I find the cap and base plate tarnish easily, since the gold wash is practically gone.

I’ve paired that brilliant #160 head with a Charcoal Goods hammered handle.

Beautiful. I love the of Charcoal Goods handles.
The ball-end handles which come with the Goodwill are known for splitting. This combination eliminates that possibility, and I don’t feel so uneasy with use/cleanup.
