Good Sandlewood EDC or EDT

Shaving baby skin and turkey necks
I never sampled Tam Dao, but I have both Creed Santal Original and Floris Santal, and I like them both.

Art of Shaving Sandalwood is good, but it's got a prominent evergreen fir note...I like it, but not everybody's thing.

Etro Sandalo is great if you can afford it...and Coty's "Wild Woods" is great if you can't. I really like it.

Caswell-Massey is nice if you want a straight sandalwood note. Their "Tricorn" is also nice, but it's not Mysore Sandalwood + has a slight medicinal scent. I like it, but again, YMMV.

Hermes "Bel Ami" and Trumper's "Astor" both have good, strong sandalwood notes.

I've heard great things about "Sandalo" by Lorenzo Villoresi, but I don't have firsthand knowledge (it's pricey.)

Hope this helps.

p.s.--I should have added, I'd guess that Caswell Massey and Bel Ami are probably the driest/least sweet of those.

Wow Tam Dao is too sweet for you? I never would have thought this.

Anyways +1 for the Bel Ami recommendation (especially vintage!)

What is it? -- Essential Sandal Oil.
Where can you get it -- Ebay, Amazon...
How strong is it -- It's an essential oil for burning on an oil lamp, so it's concentrated. Three or four drops will last all day on your skin (well, you, know, YMMV).

There is no way that Nandita stuff is 100% pure sandalwood EO. If it were, it would have to cost many times what they are selling it for. A lot of "perfume oils" from overseas are filled with all kinds of stuff...you really have no idea what exactly is in there.

It could be pure sandalwood EO if it is from Australia (as opposed to India).

If you don't mind your sandalwood with a glass of rum on this side do be sure to try Serge Lutens Santal de Mysore - another fantastic scent IMO!

It's not essential oil, just fragrance oil.

You might try the C&E Sandalwood. It has a bit of smokiness to it, but like others have already said, I wouldn't have thought of Tam Dao as too sweet, relative to other sandalwoods. If you had said GFT Sandalwood is too sweet, I would have understood.

An incense oil that can be used as a body cologne. You can get it on Ebay. It is subtle and lasts all day with just a dab on either side of your neck. And oh yeah....It's $8.

I don't care what's in it. I just care that it smells exactly like my string of sandalwood beads. And it beats the pants off a lot of other fragrances that cost a whole lot more.

I love me some Dr. Harris Sandalwood!

Edit: Sorry, the OP is looking for an EDC or EDT. Dr. Harris is technically an aftershave. However, I put it on in the morning whether I shave or not. And it lasts pretty much all day.

Agree with all of the above, but DR Harris Sandalwood is not particularly dry.
