Good razor for a 16 year old

Get him a nice shiny, minty vintage Tech. Maybe even one in a box. You can put some appreciation of the old workmanship into him while giving him a nice and mild newbie experience with a razor he can pass down o his grandkids..

A Tech is perfect for the lighter fuzz of a teenager and dollar for dollar a better value than a cheap TTO.,

IMO, of course.

The 14 year old is using Grandpa's 1963 slim set on 1 at the moment for his peach fuzz. We'll dial it up as required :001_smile

Give him a Gillette Fusion!!!

Young folks LOVE the Fusion because they are all hip and fly and fab and "sick" and whatnot!

It's what Tiger Woods shaves with and I bet the Jonas Brothers use one also!!

Just kidding of course! I would suggest a Gillette Tech.

I would say Weishi for TTO safer blade replacement and softness of shaving.
Pretty box too (mirror, cleaning brush, blade slot), for a gift.

I wish I'd started with a Tech way back when I first started shaving, but at any age it's very nearly a perfect starter razor; it definitely puts the "safety" in "safety razor." I would have saved myself one nasty cut for sure and probably gotten my technique down much more quickly.

Tech with Derby blades. When I'm running late I grab the one I keep ready just for this purpose. I'm able to shave quick and carelessly. Just like I was 16 and had really important things to do.

I always thought the Gillette slims (the silver, short, adjustable ones) are kinda the industry standard for learning since dial 1 is so tame while dial 9 has a pretty big blade gap. Just a though
