anyone know where someone can get a good talc. Not Gold Bond or Johnsons? I mean the old style gentlemens talc?

Not sure where you are at but in Canada we have Winners. I think you have TK max or some such. I have had luck finding talc in these stores.
I've picked up some Floris 89 and Some Morney talc, in Sandalwood, and Fougere.
I had no idea what I was missing.

I often shower two times a day. I use talc after my evening shower. I find it soaks up mositure.
I apply to areas that don't see sunshine. Creases, folds and around my belt line. All I know is that it leaves my skin feeling soft and silky.
Basically it can be used any place you perspire.

Many drug stores carry Clubman-Pinaud talc, which is fantastic and has the classic Clubman scent. It smells like a barbershop and it's what the barber puts on your neck after a haircut.

I was just in New York City (did my share of spending to help out your economy!!) and stopped into Caswell and Massey (Americas oldest perfumer) and they have quite a selection.
You can order online from them I believe...you can also get their talc at T&H in Toronto and some perfume shops.

Yup. After a shave to prevent collar-irritation, after morning and evening showers, etc.
I use it but find that it makes my house dustier. 
I use it after applying after shave, or corn huskers lotion, if my face is shiny, ot make it look less glossy. I use clubman.

Taylor of Old Bond Street makes three talcs in their Mr. Taylor, Eton College and Sandalwood scents. I didn't like the sandalwood but the Eton College and Mr. Taylor scents were good - especially the Mr. Taylor.

Id agree with this, I started putting in on inside the shower after I was dry -- to contain the dust cloud. Then a quick rinse of the shower basin.
the supermarket: corn starch. i use argo.
