I got this this No. 10 a few weeks back and found a nice crack where the scales met the blade.
I was going to just repair them to keep it as original as possible but Doc recommended some new shoes.
Well, he was right!
I pulled the old scales off and I couldn't believe just how cheap they felt, they were a two piece design with the wedge being a part of one side. Are all plain black Heiljestrands like this? Is it restricted a certain generation? I have several different models but this one is the only one I have with a black wedge on it. Also this came in a plastic sleeve marked with the M.K. logo, also something I haven't seen before. I Used Brown Horn with a Honey Horn wedge, I kept the same shape as the original scales for posterity.
Anyone know anything about this sleeve?
