You will pay that $45 and another $15-25 to get it honed before you can use it. There may be better options, but if it speaks to you and the money and time are worth it, go for it.

Do you want it? Can you wait to get it touched up and inspected? Is the total cost what you want to spend?

As far as the razor itself goes, it's a basic Solingen 6/8 round point. The most commonly suggested beginner's razor, or second; the other nominee being a 5/8 spike or round.

Looks fine, and would make a very good straight razor I am sure. But are you willing to have it sent for a hone? I recommend that you start off with a razor 100% shave ready. If you are not sure about the state of readiness for this one, you should consider to get it honed. Or buy another one shave-ready, from someone who knows what it means.

Poor Aaron01. I'd buy it if I wasn't sitting on a ton of razors.

+1 to what has been said. You can find DOVO Best quality shave ready razors for about $80. That is a bargain.
