Sound like a good razor to start with and you can't be the price (at least not by much). It isn't an aggressive razor so you should have no issues using it.
As noted on previous threads the best for most of the people is getting a fixed DE. It is almost impossible to resist changing the settings during the blade angle learning curve, which lead to irritation, nicks, etc.
This is a collective opinion, I have no doubt that some folks have the discipline to learn the basics in one setting and then going up in a correct progression.
A good choice. It should work well as you learn to DE shave and experiment with different blades. You should try other DE's to see what you like best, but this one might even be your favorite after all that. A nice razor.
Yup, I'm still fairly new to this, but I love my '59 Super Speed. It plus a horribly dilapidated brush only cost me $7.50 at the local antique shop. I hope to restore the brush somehow one of these days, but the razor is quite simply a beaut.
Go Flare-Tip! Or Rocket...wherever it may have come from..
