Gold plated double ring?

According to the 1905 advertisement below, there was a quadruple gold-plated "holder" double ring, called the Special Set.

Who's got one and pictures?

I read it that it comes with a triple silver coated or quadruple gold coated HOLDER or Blade Bank.... maybe I'm reading wrong.

That ad is hand drawn...lovely piece of gillette history...WOW...I've never even heard of a gold double ring let alone seen one!

The razor itself is called a blade holder. So they are not referring to the blade bank but to the razor itself.

I'd be happy just seeing a picture of the gold double ring set but if I ever own one, you know I'm going to break out in the biggest happy badger dance ever seen!

This from a what I call a "heavy" collector.. this is what he told me about the gold double ring:

I don't have a gold double ring, I do know they made them but I also know they were a special order item back then and at that time I believe they cost around 12.00 to 15.00 dollars and not very many people purchased them if any when you could buy a set for 5.00 in silver. I know some of the largest razor collector in the world and US and none of them have ever seen one either. If one exist it may fetch 10,000 to 20,000 for just the razor, complete set 25,000 to 50,000. A few of these collectors have been collection for over 40 years. Gillette's have really went up in the last few years, I bought my first double ring set in 2000 and payed only $50.00 for it. now they fetch as much as 550.00 like the one that sold this past week.
