Gold Gillette Fatboy D3

I just bought my first Fatboy for £67 , and it came with a razor blade case , but im not sure if its the case that came with the razor or another? it is marked gillette and as the title says the fatboy is a D3 (3rd qtr 1958? ) if my research is correct , the gold plating is in fantastic condition and the mechanism is smooth so i am pleased.
what i did notice is how effortless it is to use , i loaded it with a tiger blade ( not sure if they are good blades or not ) and got to it , this is only my 2nd shave with a double edge , my first being with my EJ 86 loaded with a Lord Platinum , anyways im offtrack , anyone know about the razor blade case?

To my knowledge, the blade case does not come with most standard Fatboys. However, in this case you have yourself an "Executive" and all of the pictures that I've seen of them also do not show a blade case with them as well.

Maybe the seller just threw it in because he got it with the razor originally too.

Very nice find.
I found my D-4 Executive at a swap meet for $10 though mine needed a bit of soaking to free up the adjuster from the hardened shave cream residue with stubble "rebar".
Looks like the blade case was a case of the seller thinking it was gold so it must go with this razor as the blade cases got phased out with the advent of the blade magazine/dispenser.

Yes the blade case is from another model and era. Just consider it a freebie and a start on you next set.
