Going to Turkey - any "must buy" products to recommend??

Hello,

The title pretty much says it all: I'm taking a trip to Turkey for about 10 days, and I'd like to know if there are any shaving products - especially soaps and creams - that I should be keen to bring back home with me.

I had a friend get back recently and though he is not a member of any shaving forums he said one of the high-lights of his trip was visiting a barber shop and getting a traditional shave. The turks make quite a production of it and it is a must experience in his mind.

I recommend getting out on the Black Sea and checking out the eastern city of Trabzon. They know how to give you a great shave and might point you to the best suppliers of shaving gear.

Alternatively, the Mediterranean (in the south) this time of year will be perfect!

I agree with you there, Trabzon is wonderful.

Permasharp blades, and lots of them. They are really hard to get outside Turkey, but are regarded as the best blades available there.

Have a great time, I love the place. and don't forget to get as many barbershop shaves as you can.

My mother, my aunt, and my grandmother are leaving tomorrow (7/1) for Turkey and Greece, some sort of vacation/tour thing... If you find something wicked, try to post before you get back, so I can get my ma to pick it up...
