Glycerin & Heat

I was reading the recent post on Glycerin and decided to pose this thought:

Ever put glycerin on without anything else? It has some heat and makes my skin feel hot. I wonder if this heat is a [perceived] skin reaction or real heat? It could just be MY skin's reaction; if not, the heat properties could help soften the skin. Thoughts?

I don't think glycerin is supposed to feel warm or hot on the skin. My best guess would be that it's a reaction your face is having to the glycerin.
