Gloves?

How do you pros get photos that are so free of fingerprints? Gloves? Come on, fess up.
I just did my first polishing job, and am working on a building a light box, and I want to share some photos, but unless I use a towel I cannot keep my fingerprints off the razor.
Inquiring minds need to know...
regards,
Bil

Oh I have plenty of photos with my grubby prints all over them. Lately , besides watching how I hold the razor to position it, I just use a tissue to hold the blade. Give it the final once over with it,, then just keep holding it with the tissue and set it in place.
Very high tech.
Other times I just use my magic wand to levitate it into position.

I wash my hands before taking photos and bring a microfiber cloth with me to give it a once over before staging it. I am a crappy photographer so take that all with a grain of salt. :001_cool:

Hungry Faucet never forgets!

Hungry Faucet never forgives either!

Hungry Faucet is patient....he make not snack today, nor next week.

Perhaps some day, when you're shaving away at the Whispering Pines senior center, and you hear the *CLANK* of Hungry Faucet munching down on your TI that's on it's 2,347th shave, it will all come back to you, and don't say I didn't warn you....

Blasphemer!

Archivists wear lint-free cotton gloves to avoid putting fingerprints on documents. Apart from the ubiquitous Internet search, you can find them in an art-supply store.

As a still life/product photographer, I can say with ease, invest in gloves. I handle a lot of glassware, silverware, beverage bottles, etc.

A lot of assistants prefer lint-free jewelry gloves, though I like latex gloves--I think they allow for a more refined grip--you can feel what you're holding. I usually keep them on while composing/styling. They don't come off until the set is ready, and I make a photograph.

I use cotton gloves from the pharmacy, maybe not the best but they're cheap and keeps the fingerprints away, good enough for me.

Nanobots!
I load them in my laser blaster and fire them at the blade where they give it butterfly kisses till it shines.

Just kidding, my pictures suck.

Wish I could take a picture well enough that my fingerprints would show. Of course, a good place to start in that effort would be buying a camera rather than using my phone or iPad. That's probably what I need before buying gloves.

Main thing you need in this regard is a tripod and a remote shutter release. That way you can compose and make the picture at 8 seconds @ f32 with whatever available light happens to be there.

Ha! ,, b),,, wipe razor on shirt!
C'mon guys admit it . How many of us do this? My wife gave up asking " What's on this shirt"? Ahhhh , wax, buffing compound,, sanding dust, oil,,pick one.
I do it a hundred times a day. Especially when I'm wearing a flannel shirt over a tee in the winter. Keep it open as it's a handy rag, polishing cloth, hand wiper etc... what a mess my shirts are. But it's handy!.

And all the t-shirts with a strange but fine cut trough it, all in the same place around. Don't know how many of them there is around.
