Glass-lined Travel Mug

Does anyone know of any good glass lined travel mugs? I'm trying to cut back on my use of plastic in food containers and have had poor luck in the travel mug department. I'm looking for something around the 12-16 oz range with a good seal and a cupholder size around what a standard coffee shop cup would run. No handle would be preferable, but a handle wouldn't be a deal breaker.

I'm not sure about stainless mugs at this point. I feel like I get an odd taste when I drink coffee out of stainless.

There was thread asking about finding a Good Thermos early this year, that may be of interest to you.

I recently got a Klean Kanteen which is made from stainless steel, but otherwise fits the parameters you are looking for. I have only used mine a couple of times so I can't offer much of an opinion about it yet.

Starbucks has an awesome travel mug at the local store. It is made of ceramic and has a tight fitting (plastic) lid. Reason I don't have one is because it is branded.

I have the same sensitivity as you, tasting the metal in travel mugs. A while ago I picked a Nissan style thermos up from amazon. I don't taste the metal nearly as much in this one as I do others. I do still taste it, but just barely.

Do you ever use your Nissan to brew tea with the lid/strainer/infuser? That looks like a nice way to use this thermos away from home in the workplace.

Nope. Want to. I can say the brewing attachment is a quality piece. If I had a hot water source at work this answer would be different.

I'm not entirely off of stainless, just wondering if anyone knew of any glass-lined alternatives.

I had read the thermos thread but I'm really looking for something I can sip on my commute, I don't think an open cup of hot liquid would be a great idea in that situation. I'll have to check out the ceramic with silicone lid options out there, I'm concerned that there isn't a way to positively seal the top for spill-proofness (I occasionally like to drive on twisty roads at somewhat elevated speeds, with coffee available of course).
