Giving a little Filly a second life

I had posted this photo in another thread about honing advice showing how bad technique can lead to catastrophic ends and my belief in why tape is useful for learning.
Here is the razor. It was in a bag with other razors my neighbor had given me from patrons of his barbershop prior to retiring.

I hadn't looked at it in some time and initially had no intention of salvaging as I prefer larger razors but after digging it out to post the photo I though that maybe I could gift it to someone who would appreciate a smaller razor so set at it today and here she be.

Lost a little width but the damage looked much worse than it really was. It should be a fine shaver as most older Filly's are.

Well, the second I finished posting this thread I went for the test shave.
Really, really nice for a small razor. It shaves like a nice 5/8.
I was halfway through the shave and realized I hadn't stropped it yet! Holy crap. I have never NOT stropped a razor before using. I have heard of some who do this but did not understand why anyone would - and still don't.
This was really eye opening. It shaved as well as any well prepared straight.
I think the next owner will be very pleased with it.
