Give in to the Aqua Velva!

When I joined this board in 2008 (long time ago right?), everyone loved some AV action. Aqua Velva ruled B&B in 2008-09. Well I have taken a leave of absence and now I'm back but it doesn't seem like the love for big blue is around any more. What happened? Everyone is enamored with "The Veg" because it smells like a urinal. I like Vegetal OK but am I missing something here? Is there some secret ban on AV now because they chose to do like everyone else and replace glass bottles with plastic?

I'll cast the first vote for AV. It's great for my skin, feels good, and is a classic. SWMBO isn't crazy about AV, but I shudder to think how she would react to the Veg!

I think you hit the nail on the head when you suggested that various aftershaves receive notariety in cycles. I have been on an Aqua Velva Musk kick lately, but have used Aqua Velva Blue in the past week.

I'm also a big fan of AV Musk. AV Sport is also another of my favorites as it smells just like Davidoff Cool Water. It doesn't have the same chill factor as old blue however and I have been told that its been discontinued.

I always have AV blue around and typically use it once a week. I use AV musk more that the blue, in the winter and fall months. I still have a glass bottle for my blue that I refill.

Too bad here in Portugal the word on the street is that AV is gone for good. It came with a nice big glass bottle. I'll miss it.

Thats the best part of AV. It is the first drug store aftershave I tried and I love it. I would be happy using nothing but AV for the rest of my life. It definitely gets the most use in my Den.

Despite the creepy middle-age guy vibe that the scent can sometimes elicit, I have to admit that after trying AVIB a couple of times, I love it. But I still don't have the guts to wear it when I'll be working in close proximity with others. The couple of times I wore it the wife didn't say anything. Don't know if she's just being nice or what.

As for the Veg, I think it takes a "special" person to wear that.

Ice Sport has been discontinued? THAT SUCKS. I hope this isn't true. I don't use it all of the time, but I'd hate not being able to get it.

Masters Vegetol is a really good AS and smells nice...the antithesis of the crappy VEG.
