Gillette Thin Blades Question

I just received an unopened box of Gillette Thin Blades. I am assuming that these are no longer made, but I was wondering if anybody shaves with them still. Should I give them a try, or leave them be? I want to try them out, I just don't know if there is a good reason not to.

They were awful when made, being carbon steel they are undoubtedly worse now. I wouldn't use one again on a bet.

These blades are no longer produced. I would not open them but rather put them aside as a collector item. The white pack Thins on the other hand, while no longer produced are awesome if you can manage to find any.

Well, I took AZShaver's response as a dare, so I tore into the package and loaded up one blade in my Gillette Old Style sense I know how that one shaves. These things are definatly still sharp, we shall see what happens tomorrow

Well, I tried out one of those blades this morning. I also tried out my super speed for the first time, using a regular blade in that one of corse. I picked out a small patch for the thin blade in my gillette old style. It is noticably rough, when I got down to my neck it took some blood. needless to say I finished the job with my superspeed... I think this blade will be a display item only from now on
