In 1973 my Father presented my Brother and me each a new Techmatic razor and told us that it was time we started shaving. (BTW he passed away Aug 15--I miss him.) Since he always used a DE, I assume he may have been concerned we would cut ourselves changing the blades, so for us he went with the new fangled item from the 60s and 70s. I shaved all through high school and early college before going to Trac II, etc. Been doing DE for about half a year now. Picked up an old Techmatic off Ebay and then found 5 NOS cartridges for $7. Used it this morning--Takes me back. Like seeing an old friend again. Not a bad shave either.

I'm glad the Techmatic was able to bring back those memories for you. Condolences on your father's passing.
The Techmatic is what I also learned to shave with at about the same time as you. I think that the head of one those razors makes it the easiest to get the feel of for the correct blade angle. Just simply a great starter razor!
