Gillette tech Question

Have a question about the gold Gillette Tech razor with the engraved triangle logo. In the 1940's this Tech was released in two finishes on the surface of the razors head, One is a smooth polished head and the other has a matte finish. The question is witch was released first and is one a bit more valuable than the other? Also, will the finish affect the glide of the razor over the face?

I am asking since I just bought a the pair in box, one is NM+ the other is XF+ to near mint. The smooth finish has two spots on the outer edges of the triangle.
