How thick is the plating would you estimate? Was it thick enough to cause any issues with the threads?

It did not seem to cause any issues with the threads. In theory it should only be a few microns thick.

He also made me a very nice amboyna burl handle for my long-comb New head. I sold it some years ago. Wish I still had it.
