Gillette Swedes ?

How do those NOS Gillette Platinums compare with the current production Gillette Platinums produced in St Petersburg? ISTR that the "Swedes" were actually made in Petersburg anyway.

BTW I recently bought some of the NOS Bleues and I find them inferior to Astra SPs, so not sure what all the fuss is about them.

To me the NOS platinums shave just like Swedes. They feel just a bit smoother than the cardboard Russian Plats.

I've never shaved with a Swede, but I've had nothing but wonderful shaves with the Russian cardboard Plats (the all-white pack with blue letters). And they cost a fraction of what the Swedes cost on those rare occasions that Swedes pop up on the 'bay - I can get 100 Russian Plats for about 17 USD, and that's buying them individually, not in bulk :w00t:

GBE's are also fantastic blades that can still be had for a very fair price. I've never been able to justify paying stupid amounts of money for a DE blade, no matter how legendary its status.

I know.
The price of blades was the reason I quit cartridge razors to begin with.

To use expensive razor blades is counter intuitive

Can you post a link to where you get these?? And do they have glue spots??

They have glue spots. I buy mine in a supermarket called Billa (one of the major chains in the Czech Republic). This ebay seller has them. They're not in the same pack that I described, but I believe they're the same blade. Also, they cost more than what I pay for them. I think that Billa's pricing is a fluke - they're double the price everywhere else I've seen them.
