Gillette Silver Blue

Hi everybody, got given a old tuck of Gillette Silver Blue made in UK it seems. It slipped behind a counter at my local Spar, and is probably ten plus years old (maybe closer to twenty? or even older). I'm exchanging it for 7 O clocks as the owner originally kept it for a old DE shaver... My question is, as the owner wants to see to get a few in stock as there are a small demand for a better quality blade than what he has, or is the bet now just to get Super Max or try and get 7 O's? The best blades available in SA in stores is the Super max green- He gave me a tuck of old Super Max Blue labeled London...

Besides the question, cannot wait to try the old blades and they seem in good condition...
Thanks

Wow I would love to compare the old pack of blades to today’s gsp. I can say the blues are a staple for me, very sharp and give me a nice shave

Hi, I'm going to compare between the 7 O's yellow which are my go to blades... Ill post picks a bit later- the packaging looks very similar to the ones on the net, but no idea what's the "content"... Will start my week with them... One thing I can say is that the tuck lacks the modern printing, ie the perfect lines of better printing resolutions... Must say that when he got the tuck out a little container and showed it to me, I was like a little kid wanting...

I shall, I cleaned my razor and loaded a blade. First impression is the blade itself is very thin to the touch and set perfectly in my Parker 3 piece 65R. Razor is quite aggressive and should give a good feel of the blade. Will keep a update.

Ok, here is a update- These are really nice sharp and smooth. Still need to compare with my 7 O's. Doing my fith and last shave possibly with the blade tomorrow morning, though the sharpness is definitively still there. Getting BBS without pain or irritation- very smooth and no nicks or scraping feeling. Blade feels very soft (like treet blades that are very springy, not like the more stiff Yellows) but does not pull on the whiskers. Can easily use these if I can find more. Will be interesting when I change to the yellows, but these are definitively up in the best list of mine. When they done sure going to miss them.
Getting used to working with my new razor, but getting a good BBS with a three pass. The second day I did a bit of buffing, but that was my fault, so was the slight irritation.
It is difficult to compare sharpness, but I am sure these are in the very sharp category, as I get really good BBS once my technique is dialed in for the shave with just three passes and no touch up... anyways...
