Gillette Silver Blue.Is it worth it?

As a newbie i bought 100 the lovely Astra SP and stick with them for a while,as my technique improved, nowadays i can go 2 pass with them with no nicks or irritation but now i find them to be quite draggy.I have tried rapira, shark, astra ss which i find them to be smooth and with the astra sp being by fav blade for now but for some reason the GSB really got my attention as i have seen them with high praise here as being sharper and smoother than astra.

But as i located in Malaysia,it's quite pricey for me to get them in small quantity so the only choice i have is to get them by 50/100 to make sure the shipping is worth it.So do u folks think buying the GSB in bulk will be a good idea for me?I still love the astra sp,with the price u just can't beat it!

I don't have anything to contribute about the Gillette Silver Blues since I have not tried it yet but from reading all the threads, looks like lots of positive experiences. Needless to say, these will be part of my next blade order. :biggrin1:

Oh lord this page is killing me!!:crying:My hand really itching to get them in 100 now :B.I guess i have to wait and give it a try first from @ArNav.How does it compare to gillette 7oclock yellow or black?

I have more than 2,000 of the GSBs so I will say they are worth it. For me. ArNav has made a really generous offer. See if they work for you.

IMHO, the Black and Blue are quite similar, I feel the blacks are slightly sharper, both excellent blades and I use them regularly. Not a fan of the yellows they pull on me.

But back to the Blue I would echo in that I wouldn't hesitate in ordering up some, think my current stock is around 500 +/- thay are fantastic.

Yes,i have to thanks him for such a generous offer.I guess i have to wait for them first before pulling the trigger.I thought my 250 of astra is already considered to be A LOT and u gents telling me u have 500+ of them?:a52:

I just used the yellow tonight and as I'm a GSB user exclusively 99% I'm very familiar with them. Having said that I find the blue to be a sharper than yellow but both are equally smooth. Black sometimes seem sharper than the blue just not as smooth. Might be my imagination on that.

I've read good things about GSB.
I got 25 of these a couple of weeks ago - unfortunately they tug badly and can't seem to cut my light beard properly. It is actually worse than my no-name made-in-china blades.

At the side of each box, it states the manufacturing factory is in Petersburg, under licence from US, MA.
Imitation product?

The 7 O'clock Gillette yellow (from UK) and Gillette green (Singapore) on the other hand, are smooth and sharp in weber.

I can give you some. I bought 100, reading somewhere they were no longer being made. But not in my top five. I'll try 'em again, but if you want some...how about Starbucks after OCtober 15?

The short answer is yes. They are nice blades. They are on my buy list when i finally make it through my sampler.

These are great blades and a no brainer for me. I rate them up there with the SI. I have about 400-500 of them. Maybe I should stock more, but I've already got a whole bunch of other great blades as well. A few days ago I've also ordered a 100 of Gillette Stainless in a red package and waiting to try those. I have a hunch they are similar to GSB. We'll see.

The SI is also one of the blade in my "wish list" we shall see after i have try out the GSB.If i like it,i will not hesitate to buy them in bulk!.Thanks again for the offer @ArNav

I think the GSB's give me a better shave than the yellow's. I've been a long time user of the yellow Gillettes since I bought 100 of them and feel compelled to use them up. I can shave all week on a GSB but prefer to use a fresh blade after 4 shaves at the most
