Gillette Service Set ID?

Hi Guys,

I recently picked up this nice British made Gillette 'Service Set'

I presume that by the name, these were aimed at military personnel ?

Would anyone know the date of this set? I'd guess that being a 'New' type head with open comb etc it would be from 1930s?

It's an attracive looking case anyway and at 1 Shilling and 6 old pence it would be within the grasp of the average 1930s squadie I'd say. Officers may have preferred something a bit flashier though...

there are many variants of service set´s. I believe, they are all from WWII, but I´m not sure.
