Gillette Sensor Razor Blade Cartridges

I was out shopping around and happened to walk into a Family Dollar. I looked at their shaving supplies and saw they had the original Gillette Sensor cartridges for $6.50 for a 5-pack. They had 7 packs of them so I figured what the hell and bought them all! I have kind of been itching to try my old Gillette Sensor that has been in retirement since about 1998.

I also went to a Shopko (higher end department store) and saw they had Gillette Sensor Excel black & silver handles with a couple of Gillette Sensor Excel cartridges and a Gillette Sensor 3 cartridge for about $7 so I grabbed the last 4 of those they had, lol. I figured it would be good to have spare handles.

Might anyone know if there are any companies now making cartridges for the Gillette Sensor? The only one I know of is the Personna Tri-Flexxx.

There might be others out there, but there is no substitute for the actual Gillette cartridges.

I mean, if you're going to shave with a Sensor, you gotta shave with the real deal. The others aren't even close to the same quality and smoothness.

+1

Nothing beats the real thing. No generic carts out there can hold a candle to the Gillette TracII, Atra and Sensor carts.

I haven't tried the off brand sensor cartridges but I disagree with this comment about atra cartridges. I find the Personna Atra cartridges work at least as well as Gillette brand Atra cartridges.

There's some Korean ones at K-Mart now, probably from Dorco. I like them pretty well, better than the Tri-Flexxx. They are triple blades, though, and as another poster pointed out, there is nothing like a real Sensor, and they are not what they were. I don't even like the Excel Sensor.

This thread has some comment on them: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=105506&highlight=sensor

I was in a hurry last night for a card game so I opened up one of the Gillette Sensors to shave with. I thought it was comfortable and felt way better than the Mach 3 I use to use. It was also nice I was bale to get into hard places with the Gillette Sensor.

That was about 7 PM last night. Now, 12:21 PM, I have a little stubble but nothing bad.

I was happy with the shave with the Gillette Sensor and I am looking forward to trying one of the Samurai 2s I ordered. The Gillette Sensor used new original Gillette Sensor blades.

EDIT:
I have a similar thread to this on another forum. Here is the Samurai 2 I ordered...
