What's new

Gillette razor ID

It's certainly a late-ish model aluminum Tech; newer, milder variant. The squared tip, I believe, is predominantly British in what I've seen.

Nice shaver. Super mild.

That was a quick reply :001_smile Thanks. I thought I should own at least one old Gillette but I didn't want to pay the high amount that I have seen on many auctions.

That has brought the total number of razors I own up to five, and I have only been shaving with safety razors for just over a week.

I picked one of these up a few days ago. Alloy handle but with a nickel/brass head, british made.

Not bad, the head-heaviness lets it fall down your face for a no-pressure shave. Milder than a ball-end tech, for sure, but still useable. :)

I think these were from the 60's (i found something identical on mr. razor's site).

Nickel/Brass head is in fact the case; only the handle is aluminum. I don't think the ball-end head is any different, but perhaps the weight and balance of the razor is affecting the shave for you.

The Wiki has date codes for a lot of stuff. Mr Razor's site is a nice resource as well.
