I have "British patent, Made in England" that I purchased at a shop in Calgary AB last year for about $12. I think it's what is called an Ambassador Junior. It quickly became my favorite, and I was lucky enough to find another one a couple weeks ago at an antique shop in a small town in Sakatchewan ... $5 as I recall. Guess the vendor wasn't aware that it was such a sought after little treasure.

That is the one I was referring to....ok, good to know. My hunt for a popular continues. What would be a feature I would need to see to know that it is a Popular in the future when deciding to buy? ie how would I distinguish the one in this picture and know that it was not a Popular?

I thought this was an aristocrat then I found out after posting this thread because like many here I'd never heard of a Gillette popular. Thanks to mblakele for the heads up !

That's a nice looking Aristocrat #15 you have there, i used one of mine tonight

There are two styles of handles for the Popular's, i have the other type to the one shown above.
