Gillette Old Type question

I recently picked up a couple of Old Type Pocket Set baseplates as part of a lot. One is from 1917 and one is from 1919, based on serial numbers. I assume that both originally came with a thin cap.

Just wondering... are there any issues with using a later thick cap with one of these baseplates?

No problem. That's what Gillette did in the 1920's when they made the "thick cap" version of the Old Type. However, it will be a little milder. Fair warning.

No issues just vary your technique accordingly.
