If Derby Extra blades work for you, why are you paying extra for Feather blades?

I agree that 7 O'Clock Sharpedge yellows are smooth, but for my beard, I can only use them in an aggressive razor as they are not sharp enough for a milder razor. Derby Extra blades won't come close to cutting my beard, they rip my hairs out by the roots.....painful.
I have many different blades, enough to last 435 years at ten shaves per blade. Money is no issue, or it is if you consider being out of control as a problem. I don't think I would enjoy a Derby Extra in my Merkur 34c or Muhle r89, but they work just fine in my Fatip OC's. As far as beard type, I don't know how to rank it. I'm a light-haired Dutchman from Holland MI. I've only lived in my own skin, so I'm not sure of my beard type? I'm not sure if hair color makes a difference on how tough beard stubble is?

I am very fair skinned as well (blue eyes, ruddy complexion, British Scots-Irish heritage). Like you, I appreciate a smooth blade. As I approach my 7th decade, my hair is snowy white. Gray and white beards are often tough to shave; mine certainly is; but it does not happen to everyone.
