Gillette Milord or Super speed?

I have several Gillette super speeds along with their respective plastic cases. Recently I was looking at the "Mr Razor" site and noticed that the Milord looks like the super speeds, except that the Milord had a proper, fancier case.

Is this an example of the same razor being used for different models and the case determines what the model is called?

I'm always finding new things in this hobby

Hello, first was the Milord Tech (gold), then came the Ranger Tech (same razor in nickel), then the Ranger Tech morphed into the Super speed and the gold plated Super speed was called a Milord. And they had different cases.

As Adam explained, same razor but the gold washed Milord was a higher priced, "fancier" option at $2.75

How much was a Super Speed back then, $1.00? $1.50?

Thank you very much Adam. Thats very useful information.
Someone should write a book with useful information like this.

So the golden fancier-cased Milord was made during what time frame?

The Milord tech was introduced in 1941 an was produced till around 1943.
I think production started again around 1946 (end caps added). The Super speed type Milord appeared in 1947 and was discounted around 1953.
