Gillette injector question

hey all--I know Gillette made a brief foray into the world of injectors...I think this was at the Trac II phase but before the Atra.

Can anyone tell me how it measures up to the Schick or Pal injectors? I've been on an injector kick lately, but am finding that the later razors are milder, maybe a bit too mild.

Don't know about the Gillette Injector but just saw one sell on Ebay for $18 + shipping from the UK.

I actually have a Gillette Injector, I think it's the "Twinjector". Can't post a picture now, as I'm at (ahem) work.

Haven't tried it yet, but as a fan of Schick injectors, I was curious about Gillette's brief foray into the injector market. It seems well enough made, but the safety bar is actually plastic instead of metal. I don't know if they were all like that.

It's curious that Gillette chose to compete with Schick in quite this way, at the very time that they were pushing their new Trac II. Not quite sure I follow the business strategy, and they certainly didn't keep it up for long.

Here's mine. Note the plastic safety bar, although the rest of the head is metal. It looks like they probably made more than one model.

They are the same. The Japanese "version" says on the box "Razor made in USA".

The blades in that auction are for an injector but the razor isn't an injector. The razor is a Techmatic which used a band blade.

Considering how rare they are, and if it's in darn good shape, I think it's fair if I were wanting one myself. I don't particularly care to have one so I wouldn't pay that but if you're wanting one, I think that's a decent price.

I got mine, pictured above, for $20.76 shipped from eBay. I have no idea what the "going rate" is, but the few others I saw went for more than that. The price I paid, or even the $35 you saw, could be justified by rarity. Based on the apparent quality of the razor itself, it seems high, but I'm a little nuts about injectors. It's also possible that there are variations in the model which could make some worth more than others.
