Wanted to share a couple of special razors from my collection. A 1959 Gillette fatboy E1 restored in 24k gold by Chris Spencer from Back Roads Gold and a 1958 Gillette fatboy D4 also restored by Chris in Nickel. Back a few years ago there was quite a long period when I was really taken by the Fatty, and was looking for them everywhere like a hawk. I was actually able to score more than two in this absolutely pristine condition, although it wasn't cheap at all, as you can understand, but now I have a collection I can brag about.

Very fine collection!! I have 4 fatboys one from each year of production none have the original box or papers but still I am very proud to have each one

BTW, among those five fatties, there is one that is unlike any other I have seen. Actually through all those years, I've only seen one like that. It is a Fatty with all the documents in French, intended for the French market, I wonder how rare it really is.

Oh wow that is awesome! I would imagine it's pretty uncommon most of the ones I've seen online all the documents are in English
Nice! I have 4 grandsons and several years ago I started collecting cased Fatboys to leave them (none are shaving age yet). Ending up with six very nice ones.
