Gillette Blades/Lames

Gents: I just finished shaving with a package (white plastic) of blades (silver in color) I found in an old tool box. It is the slide-out style pack with a place in the back for the old blades. Markings

Blades/Lames

Nowhere does it say Made in USA, or anywhere else for that matter. I doubt their value and don't care as I plan on using them - they are some kind of smooth! What are these things and are they still made (overseas maybe)?
Best shave I have had in many years. I pitched all my old Trac II's etc and have had a Speed 1940's for a short while. This was my first shave with a DE in 45 years. What a fool I was to try to stay with trends! The DE is my birthday present to myself - 60 yrs; and I'll never go back!

Thank you for the site info - good stuff! It appears I have a five pack of the last varient made, at least per this site, in the 1990's. I gather the only Gillettes now made are either in Russia or some other foreign country. The 7 O'Clocks get good reviews.........
Thanks again for your kind advice.:001_smile

Welcome back to DE shaving! Keep that Super Speed hot!

As far as I know the Gillettes of today are made in Russia, India and somewhere in Asia which is where the Vietnamese and Thai Super Thins originate.

I can't speak for the Indian blades but the Asian and Russian Gillettes are great in my opinion and I ordered several hundred of them.

Thank you for your welcome and suggestion. I don't know the differences between the different Gillettes found on the market beyond what i find here. The concensus appears to be in the long run it depends on one's face - senstivity, technique, and all that which includes personal appeal. Are there any general vendors on EBay (where I do miost shopping) you all would recommend? I mand many sellers of Gillette "7 O'Clock" brand but jeez, fron Singapore - how long sails the slow boat? Being one of the neewbies here I am rareing to go.

I've ordered from Dr. Idiot in Singapore. His shipping took just over a week. I've also ordered 7 O'clock super stainless from ntguy. They arrived in 3 days.

I bought my Gillette's from dridiot and ntguys also.
The ones from dridiot came from Singapore to Alabama in just under two weeks and the ones from ntguys in New York arrived in four or five days. Not bad at all and great prices.
