I have a nice fatboy, a slim, and a couple of the black Super Adjustables (both long and short handle) that I've been shaving with lately.
As I understand it, the super adjustables are basically a slim with a handle that's painted black. And the long-handle super adjustable is just the same only with a longer twisty end piece. Also, from the wiki here, it looks like the super adjustables aren't as aggressive on the higher settings as the slim/fatboy. Is that about right? Did I miss anything?
So far, I think I'm actually getting the best shaves from the long-handle Super Adjustable, and that's probably due to the length of the handle. I have big hands and it's just nice having something a little less stubby to hold on to while I'm shaving.
Is anyone else with me on this? It's just a little odd that a razor that has become one of my favorites is pretty much ignored on here. I have to conclude that maybe I'm just missing something.
Is it because the super adjustables were later production (60's and 70's) and are thus less collectible (though you wouldn't guess it given ebay's prices)? Is it because you want a more aggressive shave then they can give on the 9 setting? Is it because the later ones have a black plastic plate under the head instead of a metal one? Why do you like your fatboy/slim better?
