Gillette 7 O’Clock Super Platinum Bulk Pack

I have enough of Gillette Black blades but when you see retail price going down as much as by 40%, I couldn’t stop myself especially when I saw these coming in a nice storage box. I thought I will shout out for those who love Indian Blacks so guys can ask the seller for a nice storage box when buying bulk.

From the pictures you can see the MSRP on new packaging is 10% higher than old retail price. But the quantity offered is double and each tuck contains 10 blades unlike 5 blades in old tucks. Packaging is a re-purposed Tin Box that every junior school kid keeps in satchel; over here in India they call it ‘Geometry Box’. There is a cardboard sleeve over the box and tin box itself is bronze gold hue color. Since it is a repurposed packaging, they have used a thin plastic insert to keep the tucks stacked. If you remove the plastic insert there is enough space to arrange and add 6 more tucks of 10 each.

Gillette India finally got around to printing ‘Salon’ instead of ‘Saloon’ on bulk packs. So that’s the end of using Gillette 7 O’clock blades; looking dandy and dabbling with spirits, pregnancy, fatty liver and cirrhosis.

You can indulge in what are strictly ‘Salon’ activities :red_indian::kyle1:

is this a good blade compared to the other Russian Gillette?
I have no experience with Russian Plats to compare the Black's. For me they are plenty sharp and start out neck to neck with Feathers blade. I have medium coarse hair with full beard and get 4 shaves out of Blacks. For me they die pretty much on 5th shave.

I found this on ebay for 4x the price in India. Unbelievable.
Yeah, me too. $7.48 in India for 100 (and that’s based on the individual tuck price, it could be even cheaper) and $19.50 was the cheapest price for 100 that I found on eBay, without the tin. Vendor selling with the tin charges $35 including postage!!

Actually, I found 100 for $13.99 today, but no mention of a tin.

I had a second look at India Gillette Wilkinson Sword. The performance was good, not great, but wouldn't be unhappy if I bought them. I rate them higher than the German version of Wilkinson Sword Classic. This pleasant surprise is enough for me to look at India manufactured blades again.

Glad they worked out for you. I have medium coarse beard and cant get more than 2 poor shaves out of them.
BTW they are made in China, not India; unless you got NOS.
I think you may like the green permasharp a bit more. I find them an improvement over Wilkies.
