Gillette 7 O'Clock Sharpedge

So where are you guys buying these Russian Beauties? Everyone seems to be out. Found a few questionable sources, but they are 50 cents a blade. They have become my favorite and I'm almost out.

I bought mine at westcoastshaving.com, but I see they are currently out of stock.

Try www.bullgooseshaving.com. They appear to be in stock, and bullgoose is a member here (and an excellent guy to do business with).

An off topic question: Why is it possible to name some shops, but not others? I wanted to post the url of a reputable vendor, but the board simply deleted the name.

There's a vendor or two who have been banned from B&B due to repeated TOU violations. Maybe the one you are attempting to post falls into that category.

Could be. Can I find out somewhere if this is the case to avoid future embarassement?

...and repeated attempts to circumvent the filter will only result in angering the gods. Oblique references to say, "the banned British vendor" will usually suffice, but trying to change URLs to something resembling the actual link is definitely verboten...:biggrin1:

It ain't nice that "verboten" is the one German word everyone regularly uses *g*.
But that's precisely why I asked, I don't want to put my foot in it.

LOL! Sorry, I didn't even notice you were in Germany...I just said "verboten" because it was the first word that came to mind. No offence intended. :blushing:

None taken.
Contrary to public belief, quite a few of us can actually make fun of ourselves ;-) There are even rumours that years of genetic engineering have produced Germans with a sense of humour! :biggrin1:

One German I KNOW for sure that has a sense of humor is Blixa Bargeld from Einsturzende Neubauten (and also Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, but he no longer plays with them). That guy is hilarious, in a slightly dry sort of way.

:thumbup1: So far this seems to one of the few blades that don't leave me calling for a stretcher Bearer. The Feather blade being a total nightmare.....however the Gillette 7 O'clock 'Sharp Edge' is quite a gentle close shave in comparison.

I'm a big fan of these blades as well, but I was running low and couldn't find any of them. I did manage to get a bunch of Permasharp's out of India for a very reasonable price though, and to me the blades are indistinguishable. I paid $45.00 for 200 on e-bay. you just have to spell it wrong to find them, they're listed under Permashard.

I like those 7 o'clock PermaSharps a lot too. Do they give a discount when you buy several packs? As they ask 10 euro's per 50 shipped, so 200 would be 40 euros or almost 60 usd?
