Gillette 7 O'clock blacks

my brain goes "thonk"
I used a Gillette 7 O'clock blade in my sledgehammer this morning and got a good shave. It was forgiving with less razor burn, irritation, and nicks than the feather. I'll see how many shaves I can get out of it. I can get about 5 shaves out of a feather and maybe 3-4 good shaves out of a Gillette 7 O'clock in the green box.

I have to give the Blacks a try. I love the 7 O'clock blues, and I have a 5 pack of the blacks, just need to remember they are in the sample box I keep next time I go to load a new blade.

The 7 o'clock balcks are my favorite blade. I think you should be able to get 4-5 shaves from them without any issues. Unless you have a very coarse and wiry beard.

Blacks may be the best blades I've used. Combined smoothness and cutting ability. I definitely prefer them to the Greens. I'm even thinking they beat out the Yellows.

The Blacks are one of my favorite blades along with my Astra SP (best valued), Feather, Super Iridium.

I love the Blacks also, but for 3 shaves, I can't tell them from the blues or yellows. All three are smooth and sharp. After 3 shaves, the blues and yellows start to lose sharpness and, shortly after that, some smoothness. The Blacks keep going through 5 shaves, and I have a wiry beard. The Polsilver SI's are just as good and last just as long, but somehow I feel like the Blacks may be slightly more forgiving. Great blade.

There are two manufactures of the Black. One is in India which are considered to be the better of the two and the other is manufactured in Russia I believe which does not get great reviews.

The is only one version of the Black 7 O'Clock Super Platinum, as far as I know, and it is made in India.

The Russian made 7 O'Clock blades are the Blue Super Platinum and Green Super Stainless (which may be out of production).

Here is an image of the different 7 O'Clock blades I've encountered.

And here are the Czech made Blue Super Platinum.

I have not tried the Feathers yet, but I have been shaving with the Blacks for about 3-4 shaves, and so far I have to agree that it is a nice blade indeed on my 37C and EJ89.

I despise Feathers, the worst blade for me I have used and it isn't even close. Now the Blacks are another story, very sharp and smooth. I have some Czech Blues which are ok, not as nice for me sat the Blacks. Yellows are very nice too, as good as the Blacks. My favorite is the Silver Blues, smoothest blades I have used.

Blacks, Yellows and Feathers are tops! I learned to use a Feather after mastering an irritation free BBS shave with the Yellows. The blacks are premium blades that a new shaver can get excellent results with. Someone said it long ago that the blacks are like personna reds on steroids. I recently scored 100+ blacks for 23 bucks and change, which is crazy.

I have a lot of the Gillette 7 O'CLOCK SUPER STAINLESS that I purchased in 2005 or 2006 that I don't care much for. You may be correct maybe the stop manufacturing them. I've been using feathers and I shaved with a black yesterday. I'm using the greens just to burn them up.

I just got the same deal. No way you go wrong.
