Too bad it doesn't go to 19. I understand a razor blade gets sharper with increasing gap and my tough old man whiskers won't cut with a gap less that....

It is possible to increase the GAP to more than 18. That depends on the length of the screw.

I have not tried .. But maybe you can.

My second ADJUSTABLE GIBBS ...

Together the REX are the two best adjustable in the world.

By softness-effectiveness relationship.
For quality of materials.
For ease of disassembly.

The GIBBS is chrome plated brass and the REX is steel.

I have not tried .. But maybe you can.

I think if you can't get a decent shave on 6 you have some technique issues unrelated to the razor.
