GFT Rose and Violet Creams: Harsh?

Perhaps it's just me, but I have trouble with GFT's Rose and Violet shaving creams. Unlike GFT's Coconut Oil shaving cream, I find the Rose and Violet dry my skin, provide little protection, stain my brush tips pinkish, and irritate my neck. I like their smell, but I can't seem to get on with them. Am I doing something wrong? Perhaps I should add something to them and make an uber-lather?

If you don't have this problem with other creams and soaps you could be having a bad reaction to something in those specific products.

+ 2 I have found creams that irritate my face sometimes feel like they are not providing protection when they are actually making your face feel like it is on fire.

You may want to consider adding a few drops of water to thin your lather slightly.

I had the same problem many years ago with GFT Violet; at that time I simply gave away the cream. A few years ago, I experienced the problem with GFT Rose; I then thinned my lather slightly and the problem subsided immediately.

I found these very gentle, especially the Rose. It was my first proper cream and I eventually went to use the soap. That was back in 2006. I have had a puck of the Rose ever since and use it especially in the summer and as a treat for my skin when it's had a bad reaction to other products.

Mind you I have always used it with the Coral Skin Food so don't know if that's anything to go by.
