getting the wife to switch to DE and brush?

Yes. It wasn't hard.

I told her not to use my razor or brush. So naturally she did exactly that. She then went out and bought her own set up.

cool, was think of surprising her with a ladies gillette when the bag of disposable bics were done. she uses the KMF moisture shave, which i used to use before using pucks.

I ordered a blue ladies Gillette off ebay and bought her a zebra patterned brush without telling her. When they came in, I handed her the package and told her that it was hers. She was really excited and was hooked after the first shave. She asked me to get her a pink ladies Gillette the next week.

I keep getting boned on ebay auctions. My wife got a Parker 29L, which from I can tell looking at pictures, is nearly identical to a ladies gillette.

Why open that door? Next thing you know your stuff is being used and mistreated. Do you really want to chance two people in the home with a acquisition disorder? No, no no...this is not good idea at all. Like teaching your wife to play golf.

No problem changing over to a lady Gillette but she still chooses to use canned goo which is understandable given the greater real estate she has to shave.

My wife claims to still have scars from using one in the 1960's. She's happy I enjoy it, but has no interest in switching from her cart.

My girlfriend really wanted to try it out after she saw my old razors. So, I got her a Gillette lady star razor. She tried it a couple times, but said the head was too difficult to maneuver. Now she is back to disposables. Oh well, at least she tried it.

The wife has a Lady Gillette and uses my brush with either my VdH or KMF Lime. Will probably buy another brush for myself and let her have mine.

This is the truth. My wife would steal my razor and leave me with a dull blade because she didnt want to cut herself pulling the blade out of my 3 piece. So, I bought her a Lady Gillette on eBay. Now, she wants all of the different colors of the LG, and wants me to restore an old Ever Ready or Made Rite lucite brush handle for her since she fell in love with my restoration with a TGN finest. She's also getting a case of software acquisition disorder, trying every sample, soap, and cream I have (probably even Tabac on a long enough timeline). Getting her to make the change wasn't hard, I just showed her how close of a shave I got on my face, and the price of DE blades.

My wife was curious as to why I was so into wetshaving so she asked if I could let her try it out. I showed her how to make a lather and the angle/pressure to use. She got hooked almost as fast as I did. Thankfully, she didn't develop a case of the AD's. She has the same 2 razors (lady Gillette and Schick Eversharp), brush, and cream that she started with in January.

I converted my wife and she now has a Parker 29L and a 1960's Gillette Knack. She uses the Proraso white pre/post and croap and loves to rotate through the colors of my B&B boar brush collection.

My fiancé had been interested in my razor so I about a year and a half ago I let her borrow my slim and she decided to keep it. I thought I might get it back if I bought her a Lady Gillette, but she decided to keep both. It has worked out well but if she gets to my soaps when they arrive she picks which ones she wants to keep, sadly she recently commandeered the Razorox Artisan Lavender soap. If she decides to switch you will just need to keep your good things hidden.

I permanently converted the SWMBO when i showed her how smooth and irritation-free my neck was after she watched me blade-buff ATG with my fat handle tech. She expected copious amounts of blood and high-usage of the styptic pen soon thereafter...needless to say, she was very surprised.

Luck was on my side as I promptly found and purchased another fat handle tech at a local antique store. I cleaned it thoroughly and now she uses it (along with a VDH boar / VDH select re-pour) every time she shaves.

She uses the DE when she doesn't have the time for a shavette. I still make her lather for her (and will continue to), otherwise she will just use the KMF in the shower.
