While looking for something else, I came across these amazing links in a German shaving forum. It's a list of all German manufacturers of blades and their brands in 1932. Apparently they all published their blade codes in the trade magazine "Messer und Schere". On the last page you find the claim that there were a staggering 240 companies advertising their codes in this publication in that year...
