My boyfriend found this old straight razor with his grandfather's stuff, and he's been thinking about restoring it. But we don't know much about it, no idea how old it is, if it was a normal straight razor, if it was some limited run thing (his grandfather was a collector). Any advice? Any info?

Always difficult when looking at photos but I think that should restore nicely. I cant make out the manufacturer so cant comment, never seen $3.00 on a razor before. Its older than 1950 if I had to take a guess.
